Gypsy's adventure backstory

Why this trip at this time? Following a conversation with both my aunts on Easter, I realized how little time some of us might have on this planet. I could have flown to Seattle/Spokane like I have done over the past quarter century, but then I would have had to rent a car (I don’t like to be dependent on anyone) and frankly, I didn’t want to spend the money on that. Okay, I can drive up, but since I always take I-5 through California and have never been to Utah (the ONLY western state I have not visited), I planned a direct route to Spokane via Utah. Then…plans kind of took off from there. Shakespeare in Cedar City (thanks Alice)? Might be fun! Hey, Ashland, Oregon ALSO has a festival. I could stop off there as well (maybe reconnect with Amy?). My cousin was planning to meet me in Spokane but asked if I could make it closer to the 4th. Okay…add stops in Salt Lake City and Yellowstone. Now, in return, I would like for the ‘family’ to visit Fix Ridge, Idaho (the place of my paternal ancestry). Seattle and vicinity, the place I grew up so have many friends and family to visit; this is my longest stay.

I haven’t taken a road trip (other than a point A to point B) since I was in my 20s. This is my attempt to regain some of that magic and adventure that has eluded me for so many years. Since this trip is being directed on so many levels, magic and adventure is guaranteed to find me (or I, it). My car is only a year old; I don’t anticipate any problems in this area. I have my satellite radio, my cooler/refrigerator (it plugs in, no ice), my Ipad to keep in touch, my cellphone (goes without description), and for the first time, reservations in all my stopping points.

WELCOME LIFE!!
